Meet the Sport Truck Staff

For some unknown reason, this build has always been the project I haven't been able to complete. But, I hope after SEMA I will have found a shop to start the build of it.

In order to properly kick off Sport Truck's 20th anniversary, we decided that a few introductions were necessary. I mean, we can't have you guys (and girls) out there reading your favorite magazine without knowing a little something about the staff that brings this whole mess together once a month. Enjoy.

Q: What is it like to work for Sport Truck magazine?
A:Working here is really cool. I love the ability to fly all over the country and meet as many people as possible. Not only do I get to meet people, but I get to see some of the baddest trucks on the planet and get to talk to the owners. Deadlines can sometimes sneak up on you, and when they do, we can spend a lot of late nights at the office-anybody got a pillow I can borrow?

Q: What did you do for a living before working at Sport Truck?
A:I worked at a major food retailer, where I did just about every job there was to do in a grocery store, from courtesy clerk to department manager. After getting laid off, I got a job at a cheesy aftermarket parts shop as an installer. The owner was a total douche bag, and I was instructed to do a lot of what not to do when installing parts. Then, I worked for a fabrication shop, where I learned the correct way to install, fabricate lifts, and 'bag trucks. Right before I got the job here at Sport Truck, I was working on another magazine as an editor and art director.

Q: What are you building right now?
A: Right now, I have two projects. The first one is a '95 Mitsubishi Mighty Max Macro Cab that has already been 'bagged, shaved, driven, and re-'bagged. But, right now, I'm playing the Mike Alexander role, so it is just sitting there collecting dust. Until I get my own garage or shop, I am kinda stuck in limbo as far as working on it. The second of my two projects is an '07 Chevy Colorado. You were introduced to it in the Oct. '07 issue in the Front Page news column, and you should start seeing some tech articles on the buildup.

Q: How do you spend your free time?
A: Free time? What is free time? I have been trying to find a store that gives away free time, but I haven't had any luck. I thought it might have been one of those TV infomercial gimmicks, so I drove over to one of those As Seen On TV stores, but I didn't see any there. I figured since I couldn't find it in stores, I thought I would find it on eBay. You can find anything on eBay, from pocket lint to bridges for sale, but they didn't have free time. So, if anybody has some free time or knows where to get it, let me know-I am almost willing to pay for it.
